From Russia with love

I hope you enjoy the March issue of CanTech International, which should hit desks later this week. Inside the issue we are lucky to draw upon some expert industry advice, including industry veteran Evert van de Weg, who focuses on the two-piece and three-piece can debate and Helen Lewis, who examines a market update on the beer filling side.

From April we will be adding some expert knowledge of the Russian and the CIS market courtesy of our new Russian correspondent, Vladislav Vorotnikov.

As you are probably aware, there have been lots of developments in Russia and CIS countries, given the recent sanctions and food embargo crisis recently. Vladislav has a wealth of experience acting as a Russian correspondent for a range of magazines in the packaging, food and energy sectors, so it will be exciting to be able to gain the inside track from our man on the ground.

Recently, a couple of producers have been caught up in a storm, including Kerch Packaging Mill, who recently lost the ability to supply cans to Ukraine and other countries after Russian annexation of the peninsula. For April, Vladislav begins by examining the impact of these recent developments – it promises to be a fascinating read.

In other news, the Polish can maker Can-Pack has also confirmed attendance at Euro CanTech. President and CEO, Cezary Szymaszek and vice-president, sales, Agnieszka Budzioch-Kmiecik, will be joining us and we look forward to welcoming them to the show, which is now only six weeks away.

Until next time…
