Ball collaborate with Norwegian craft beer

Ball has collaborated with Norwegian craft brewer Lervig Aktiebryggeri to produce packaging for selected expressions of its craft beer range. This sees Ball extending its cooperation with craft brewers, now manufacturing cans for craft beer in Norway in addition to the UK, Ireland, Germany, Spain and Sweden.

Using Ball’s 330ml and 500ml can, the canned offering comes in a range of eight flavours including Lucky Jack American Pale Ale, Lucky Jack Grapefruit and Sour Suzy (a.k.a Berliner Weisse).

Mike Murphy, brewmaster at Lervig, said: “Ball was great in helping translate our established designs onto can. As a brewer, we don’t follow the rules and we’re looking to enhance our packaging by implementing aspects of Ball’s extensive value range, as well as moving more of our products into can.”

Christian Nilsson, sales manager for the Nordic and Baltic states at Ball, added: “At Ball, collaborating with customers is extremely important and it’s great to see so many craft beer brands from around the world embracing the beverage can as the preferred packaging solution. Lervig really understands the sustainable credentials of the can and encourages its customers to recycle their cans.”

The cans are manufactured out of Ball’s Malmö factory in Sweden and are exported to approximately 25 countries and growing.
