Sending condolences

Our November issue shortly goes to press where we make use of some new contributors. Editorial board member Andrew Truelove outlines how his company, CarnaudMetalbox, has used the global WorldSkills competition to help develop the next generation of can making engineers and professionals.

Anne-Marie Hardie also looks at the new burgeoning market of canned oxygen – Vitality Air, based in Canada. It’s a fascinating read, and certainly a side of the filling market that I have limited knowledge on.

It is with great sadness to learn of the passing of industry stalwart James Abbott. Having previously worked for CarnaudMetalbox, FMC and many others, James was a welcome friendly face at many trade event over the years. As a publication we would like to send our condolences to Jim’s family. I’m sure there will be a glass or two raised at Asia CanTech next week.

One final thing; for those of you who sent us messages congratulating us on our 25 years, it’s most appreciated. Here’s to the next 25!

I hope you have a safe journey to Asia CanTech, and I look forward to seeing you all next week.

Until then…
