Hitting the brief

This week I have headed to Chicago for this year’s IMDA conference and once again the event has proven to be one of the best shows on the busy trade show calendar.

It’s not just the fact that there is golf and networking on an informal level, but the quality of the conference speakers are excellent in the main too. However, like those that were in China last week, there are certainly a few jaded individuals here! The mixture of multiple time-zones and burning the candle at both ends has certainly proved tough for some. I know there are factors to be taken into account, but it would be nice if show organisers could come together and were a little more forging for travel schedules.

After this week it quietens down for a few weeks and we look ahead to Asia CanTech. In case you missed the news in the past couple of weeks, we’re delighted to welcome Crown’s chief technology officer, Dan Abramowicz as a keynote speaker.

And not only that, we’re excited to launch our Supplier Awards at this year’s show. There will be more to follow on this in due course, but so far we have received some positive feedback in being able to honour the suppliers within the industry.

As we have some time until our next issue, it’s a great time for us to take stock as a magazine. I’d welcome your feedback about how we can improve as a publication, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Have a good week.
