MPE secretary general to speak at Euro CanTech

Anders Linde (pictured), the secretary general of Metal Packaging Europe (MPE), has been confirmed as the first keynote speaker for Euro CanTech 2013.

Euro CanTech is the new European technical conference and exhibition for can makers, fillers and their suppliers. The event is taking place at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham, UK, from 26 to 28 June.

MPE represents the united interests of producers and suppliers of rigid metal packaging across Europe.

Linde’s past experience includes working as director of external environmental affairs at Rexam. He was also chairman of Europen between 1998 and 2003 and was director at Beverage Can Makers Europe between 1992 and 2011.

Bringing together European and national industry associations, Metal Packaging Europe is the voice for the industry ensuring the benefits of metal packaging are understood and promoted. The members of MPE are the main European trade bodies across the metal packaging industry.

A senior manager from tinplate manufacturer Thyssenkrupp Rasselstein has also been lined up as a keynote speaker. Further information will follow.

Euro CanTech’s conference format offers a platform for suppliers to the metal packaging industry to present new products, developments and manufacturing efficiencies to their customers, in a professional yet intimate atmosphere that’s far removed from a large exhibition setting. It is a boutique event with huge scope for networking, and is unlike any event currently held in Europe for this industry.
