Adrian Long is global account manager for CMB Engineering. After completing an engineering apprenticeship with a textile machine manufacturer and a few years working in manufacturing for a machine tool manufacturer, Adrian went to Cranfield Institute of Technology, now Cranfield University, to study Mechanical Engineering.
He joined Metal Box Engineering, Shipley, in 1979 and worked in the design and development department before transferring to Metal Box Wantage in 1984 where he worked on aseptic packaging machinery development.
He returned to Shipley in 1988 as commercial manager and then service manager until 1993 when he worked on a number of projects, mainly in two-piece can plants. In 1996 he became sales manager for CarnaudMetalbox Engineering, a position he still holds today. He has spent the last 26 years travelling extensively to all parts of the world in both a technical and sales role, mainly to two-piece beverage plants.
