Gruppo ASA acquires Italian Crown plant

Gruppo ASA has signed the transfer of shares and consequently the takeover of Crown Speciality Packaging, a company with a turnover of €20 million and 80 employees.

Through this operation, the San Marino group has achieved the significant goal of a total turnover of over €100 million thus becoming the leading independent group in Italy and among the first ones in Europe on the general line metal packaging market.

This is the second operation of this kind carried out by ASA since last October, where it took control of Central Tin Containers Ltd based in Liverpool, thus strengthening its presence in the UK.

Emilio Amati, chairman of Gruppo ASA, said: “Through the takeover of Crown, we will develop and make our offer to the customers in the chemical sector stronger in Italy and even more robust in Europe. At the same time, we will consolidate this field where we have been actual protagonists with the takeover of seven firms starting from the 80s.

“I want to assure that this new firm perfectly matches the Group’s quality standards and product range so it will benefit from the excellent results achieved by the plant in San Marino as for the supply of main services to its affiliated companies, especially computer graphics and lithography. Working groups in San Marino and Chignolo Po have already activated to ensure rapid integration and consequence benefits for the whole group.

“The founding values of Gruppo ASA, inspired by my father Mario, consider the appreciation of human resources and the protection of the environment as fundamental factors for development and success and they have been maintained also by the third generation of family managers. The support given to the group by company owners and the board of directors is the best warranty for further years of growth and stability.”
