Developments at Applegate

The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) has partnered with Applegate Marketplace to offer guidance to CIPS members on themes and key developments in business and to support in the selection of suppliers.

David Noble, group CEO, at CIPS, says, “We all work in an incredibly fast-paced environment so access to relevant data is important, and even crucial. So much more is required of our professionals than a decade ago. We cannot all be instant experts in all sectors and with all skillsets but a global business environment expects much more of us. Having support and access to a range of high-quality resources helps to keep our professionals current, up-to-date and authoritative is one of the most important aspects an institute can offer its members.”

Stuart Brocklehurst, chief executive at Applegate, adds, “We are delighted to be partnering with the institute and look forward to working together in future.”

Additionally, Applegate has announced another partnership with the German business platform “Wer liefert was” (wlw). Its customers will be able to promote its products and services to professional buyers in Germany, Switzerland and Austria who use w/w.

Applegate has also appointed Lawrence Churchill CBE as chairman and Professor Jim Norton FREng as independent non executive director. This will help drive growth as the company embarks on a major transformation.

“The appointments of Lawrence and Jim come as Applegate plans major developments to the business. Lawrence has a great track record in helping businesses grow, Jim’s deep and extensive understanding of e-commerce and the engineering sector will help Applegate to expand in the increasingly competitive digital market,” adds Brocklehurst.
