Metpack 2011 gets underway

Heilbronn Group to expand

Germany’s Heilbronn Group has acquired Heilbronn Pressen, a manufacturer of mechanical presses and complete stamping lines for the sheet metal forming industry worldwide. The new company will be integrated into the already existing holding structure and continue to act as a supplier for the general stamping market.

INX International announces price increase

The rising cost of raw materials has forced INX International Ink Co to announce a price increase effective from April 1, 2011. The company, which is a provider of inks for metal decorating, has cited the unprecedented upward price pressure on raw materials, transportation and the continued instability in the raw material supply chain as the major contributing factors for this new price increase.

Mueller joins Crown’s board

Crown Holdings has announced that Josef Mueller has been elected to the company’s board of directors. The board now has 12 members. Mueller has spent his entire 35-year career with Nestlé for which he most recently served as chairman and CEO of the company’s Greater China Region until his retirement in 2007.

Green politician visits Ball’s Hassloch plant

The chairman of the German Green Party was recently shown the latest can making innovations and technologies during a tour of Ball Packaging Europe’s Hassloch plant. Cem Özdemir was shown the German plant’s digital printing line for beverage cans which features a globally unique technology brought to market by Ball Packaging after extensive research and development.
