Napea chooses Ball for new can packaging

Ball Corporation has announced that it will be launching a new 33cl can for Italian beer company Napea, as it moves into canning as a new packaging format.

Napea, one of six craft beers under Les Bieres Du Grand St Bernard, owned by Stefano Collé and Rémy Charbonnier, is adopting the can to better preserve its beer whilst also offering customers a packaging solution which is easy to carry, store and dispose of sustainably.

Produced in Ball’s Nogara plant, Napea will adopt Ball’s matte finish to demonstrate the brand’s logo and colouring. The Napea can will also showcase the ‘Metal Recycles Forever’ logo to promote the sustainability credentials of the can.

Marco Xausa, marketing manager for Les Bieres Du Grand St Bernard, comments, “With our logo already recognised in Italian markets, the shift to canning enables us to showcase our logo effectively through the design of the can, the matte surface finish varnish enhances the design and makes it much more incisive and dynamic.”

Monica Mantovani, sales manager for Ball Beverage Packaging Europe, says, “We’re delighted that Napea has made the move into canning. Not only does the can preserve the beer in a way that bottles do not, but the packaging enables Napea to bring their heritage to life through their sleek and simple design.”
