1,000th trimmer celebrated at CarnaudMetalbox Engineering

CarnaudMetalbox Engineering (CMB) have proudly celebrated the manufacture of the 1,000^th 550 Trimmer at its headquarters in Shipley West Yorkshire, UK after nearly 100 years of operation. To mark the event on 13 September 2018, the senior management team cooked a BBQ for the workforce and handed over a commemorative plaque to representatives of Ball Packaging Europe.

Also present and pictured at the ceremony were the engineers involved with the first trimmer, which was dispatched in February 1996 and those that built the 1,000^th machine.

General manager of CMB, Andrew Truelove, said: “Today was a day of celebration of achieving another significant milestone, which follows closely the 1,000^th 5000 series Bodymaker and 100^th 3400 Necker and is even more remarkable given the timescales involved.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to our suppliers and of course our customers, but most of all to our dedicated and hardworking workforce that has made this all possible.”
