Award winning brands in cans

Two drinks that are packaged in cans made by Rexam were honoured at the Beverage Innovation Awards in London.

Rexam’s customers secured top prizes at the awards, which were hosted at The Honourable Society of the Inner Temple. Rexam Beverage Can was also a finalist at the awards for the ‘Best Packaging for Functional Drinks’ with its Fusion aluminium bottle.

Chamane Energy Drink, which is packaged in Rexam’s Fusion bottle, won the ‘Best Energy Drink’ award. Rexam worked closely with Deveurop SAS to develop the aluminium bottle for their new Chamane natural energy drink and help it really stand out from its competitors in the energy drinks market.

Stéphane Lacourt, CEO of Deveurop SAS, said: “We have received great recognition in the last few months which has been very rewarding. Our close partnership with Rexam enabled us to work together to create an award winning packaging format which truly represents the quality of the product.”

Aspire, a calorie burning drink, was also awarded the prize for ‘Best New Functional Drink Brand or Business’. This drink uses Rexam’s 250ml slim can and is a first for the European market. Rexam worked closely with CAAC GmbH, Vienna on behalf of Fahrenheit60 to create a bespoke package which complements the benefits of the drink inside and promotes its appeal to the target market.

Darren Linnell, director of Fahrenheit60, said: “It was great to see our Aspire drink win at the awards, we have had a great consumer response and really do believe in the success of the product.  The support from Rexam has been invaluable – their innovative approach to packaging is just what we needed to reflect the unique qualities of Aspire.”

Gary Aslam from Rexam Beverage Can added: “To see Chamane and Aspire win in their categories is fantastic. The Chamane Fusion bottle looks fantastic and really reflects the innovative nature of our relationship with them. The slim can for Aspire is truly eye catching and it has been great working with them to bring this product to market.”
