SLAC International offers PPE manufacturing support
Mingjia, one of SLAC International’s manufacturing operations in Shandong Province, China, has developed and is now manufacturing equipment to assist in the continued global effort in the fight against Covid-19.
SLAC’s Mingjia CV20R automatic N95 mask production system is used for fully automated N95 ‘folding mask’ production.
The mask production system is equipped as follows: the multi-layer non-woven material rolls are organised and fed through compound roll welding after overlaying feeding controls. Nose bar lines are welded after unrolling and cutting. Two rolls of elastic banding options are welded to the mask material after automatically unrolling and cutting to designated length. The automatic vision detection is used for inspecting and qualifying masks throughout the process. The masks are folded in half post inspection for further assembly. After ultrasonic welding and fusion, the masks are rolling-cut and formed to shape. The second automatic vision system detects unqualified masks. Scrap masks are automatically discharged. Finished N95 masks are automatically stacked and discharged for further packaging.
Below are some further details of the production system, provided by SLAC International:
1. Basic Parameters
a) Fully automatic production.
b) Production Speed 35-60pcs/min (based on complexity)
c) Composed of max 6 layers of material (PP polypropylene)
d) Qualified acceptance rate not less than 97%
e) Dimension: L9000mm × W1900mm × H2000mm
f) Working power: 220VAC ± 5 %, 50Hz, rated power about 8KW
g) Compressed air: 0.6-0.8 MPa, flow rate about 200NL / min
h) Operating environment: temperature 10-35℃, humidity 5-35% HR, no flammable, corrosive gas, dust free environment
2. Working Processing
a) Material Feeding stand with max 6 layers
b) Unrolling, cutting and inserting designed nose bar.
c) Pattern welding by ultrasonic power
d) Printing or laser marking logo and product information
e) Two rolls of elastic ear-loops unrolling, cutting and ultrasonic welding
f) Labelling
g) Defects inspecting and the unqualified masks tracking, discharge
h) Folding in half
i) Ultrasonic form welding
j) Defects inspecting and the unqualified masks tracking, discharge
k) Rolling-cutting and removal of leftover material
l) Unqualified masks rejection and finished mask feeding conveyor
3. Features
a) High speed, up to 60 masks/minute is one of the highest in the industry.
b) High stability, low failure rate, industrialized design, sturdy and engineered for continuous operations.
c) Online Vision inspection to inspect and sort unqualified masks, in order to guarantee the qualified rate of produced masks.
d) Only 1 operator required, this is an observation role, not an engineering role due to the automated process.
e) The whole production line uses PLC, touch screen control and the main conveyor adopts unidirectional motor transmission, which can achieve precise movement, stable control, and adjustable speed.
f) Machine connection is available through the Internet. The quality of mask production can be monitored remotely, and the qualification rate and the statistics of defect types can be viewed in real time.
