CanO Water launches Instagram initiative for World Oceans Day

Environmentally-conscious water brand, CanO Water, has launched an initiative to mark World Oceans Day 2020 (8 June), empowering the general public to help clean UK beaches of plastic with a few taps of a screen, while in lockdown.

By commenting a wave emoji under CanO Water’s World Oceans Day post on Instagram, the nation can help to clean up British shores, with CanO Water committing to remove 50kg of plastic from British beaches and surrounding oceans, for every thousand wave comments received. There is no limit to the initiative, meaning the greater people’s involvement, the more plastic will be removed from the ocean.

The company’s pioneering use of infinitely recyclable aluminium cans, rather than plastic bottles used by other water companies, is already helping to decrease the 8 million tonnes of plastic that currently end up in the ocean every year, and with this latest initiative, CanO Water wants to empower the nation to make a difference too.

To help execute its World Ocean Day initiative, CanO Water is supporting the largest international ocean conservation organisation, Oceana, and a British ocean clean up charity, 100 Tons of Plastic.
