New chairman for Canned Food UK
Steve Gogerty has been appointed chairman of Canned Food UK.
Gogerty is a business development manager at Crown Food UK & Ireland and has more than 20 years’ experience in the canned food industry.
Canned Food UK is a national association which consists of companies from across the canned food sector – from can makers to fillers – that promotes the benefits of canned food to consumers.
As part of his new role, Gogerty aims to improve perceptions of this kitchen favourite and encourage people to enjoy eating canned food.
With a background in the canned food industry spanning engineering, marketing and business development, he is able to comment on subjects such as nutrition, different canned food products, the canning process, household consumption, new product innovation, the retail market, the history of canned food and an overview of the industry.
