Empac unveils new website

European Metal Packaging (Empac), the association bringing together European producers of metal packaging and their supply chain partners, has launched a new look website: www.empac.eu.

The new site features key facts on metal similar to those introduced at Interpack 2011.

Sections include:

• Precious industry

• Precious contents

• Precious future

• Innovations

The site offers thorough, yet quick and easy access to essential information. The sustainability credentials of metal are clearly highlighted, especially its permanent physical nature: metal goes back to metal, metal is forever and can be recycled infinitely. Today, these are strong and compelling messages.

The website sets out the key advantages of metal packaging.

The precious contents provides essential technical facts and figures while the innovations section features recent examples of new product developments.

The website aims not only to be informative but also visually attractive. The precious industry section hosts an industry video showing the lifecycle of metal packaging as well as its key role in today’s everyday life.

The precious future landing page displays a recent video message from Janez Potočnik, the EU commissioner for Environment, valuing metal packaging’s contribution to a resource efficient Europe and future environmental commitments. This activity is coordinated through Metal Packaging Europe – Empac’s umbrella organisation – which leads the industry’s public affairs initiatives.

It is part of Empac’s ongoing focus to enhance the quality and availability of information for its plus 200 members and stakeholders.

Ellen Wauters, manager communications, said: “We are proud to unveil Empac’s new website. Our aim is to ensure it fully values and serves our industry and members. The website is updated on a regular basis to offer the latest news and data on metal packaging. We wish it to become a “must-visit” platform for our members or indeed anybody looking for up-to-date facts on our industry.”
