Limited edition cans celebrate history of Coors brand

US brewer Coors is celebrating the history of its Banquet beer brand with the release of four commemorative cans that will be available until the end of March.

The limited edition cans went on sale in the US at the start of February. Each of the four distinctive “yellow belly” designs highlights an era-specific piece of the history of Coors Banquet, ranging from 1880 – the decade it was introduced – to 1959. Every can also includes a unique story highlighting the brand’s notable past.

“Coors Banquet is one of the great American icons that has stood the test of time,” says Coors Banquet brand manager Chuck Buckingham. “Through the ‘Grab a Piece of the Legend’ program, we celebrate and share our past while encouraging new tales involving the timeless western brew.”

Beer has been produced at the Golden, Colorado, brewery since 1873 using 100% Rocky Mountain water and High Country barley. Over the years, the beer has played a role in major motion pictures and countless picnics and parties, all while maintaining that 19th-century Western mystique it has become known for.

Fans are invited to head to www.Facebook.com/CoorsBanquet to share their Coors Banquet stories and for the chance to appear on the brand’s site.
