Red Bull reveals can contamination threat

Red Bull has revealed a blackmailer is attempting to extort money by threatening to contaminate cans of its energy drink.

The blackmailer is allegedly threatening to place cans of the drink contaminated with faeces on supermarket shelves in Austria.

According to a statement by Red Bull the company decided to go public about the plot to take away some of the leverage the blackmailer was trying to hold over them.

Tests carried out by Austrian authorities at outlets supposedly contaminated by the blackmailer have, so far, revealed no tampering with the product.

The statement said: “This threat is confined to product on sale in Austria.

“Checks at stores where the perpetrators claimed to have put contaminated goods have found nothing.”

The company said it’s cooperating with police in both Austria and Germany and it wouldn’t be commenting further as the investigation continues.
