Tinplate manufacturer changes name
Tinplate manufacturer Rasselstein has changed its name to ThyssenKrupp Rasselstein GmbH.
The new name for the company came into effect from 15 February 2012.
The company says the name change ensures that the Rasselstein name, which enjoys high worldwide regard and is synonymous with high-quality packaging steel from Germany, will live on after more than 250 years of association with the company.
The Andernach plant is the only German – and also the world’s biggest – facility for the manufacture of tinplate. With almost 80% of its production intended for export, ThyssenKrupp Rasselstein owes its strong international competitive position to the considerable materials expertise that the company has been able to achieve and expand in close collaboration with its parent company, ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe.
In the ThyssenKrupp Rasselstein name, ThyssenKrupp, the world’s leading specialist manufacturer of high-grade flat steel, and Rasselstein, an innovative and technology-leading manufacturer of tinplate since packaging steel first started to be produced on an industrial scale, combine their common and already proven standards of quality, innovation and service.
