Andrew Truelove, current plant manager at CMB Engineering, has been promoted to general manager at the can making machinery manufacturer.

Truelove (pictured) will assume the role in July 2013. Geoff Gargon, currently business support manager at the company, will fill Truelove’s previous position of plant manager.

Jim Cozier, the current general manager, who is retiring in September will continue to support Truelove and Gargon in a consultative role.

Truelove started his career with CMB in 1994 as an apprentice engineer. Moving up through the ranks, Truelove has worked in both sales and engineering functions, until assuming the role of assistant plant manager in 2010. In this position and his following role of plant manager, Truelove implemented lean manufacturing, and utilised increased investment to improve equipment, production and delivery processes.

“At CMB, we marry excellence in engineering with outstanding customer service to help our can making partners meet their customers’ and end-users’ needs,” says Truelove. “My focus, as general manager, will be on further enhancing CMB’s reputation as a global supplier of innovative can making technology, designed for the production of best-in-class cans.”

Gargon, who will assume the vacated role of plant manager, joined CMB in 1971, also as an apprentice. He has held a variety of engineering and service roles.

Gargon said: “At CMB Engineering, we aim to provide superior can making machinery and equipment to our customers, designed for ease of use and speedy integration into existing lines. We have focused on both increasing our own efficiencies at the production and delivery stage, while also leveraging customer feedback during the design of new machines.”

CMB Engineering recently announced the departure of sales manager Chris McKenzie, who has returned to Brisbane, Australia, with his family. Adrian Long is currently acting sales manager.
