Ball Corporation has partnered with Grupo Mariza to launch Nutrinéctar, the first juice in a can in Brazil produced with aluminium certified by the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) and identified with the ASI Responsible Aluminium Sourcing label.

More than a new packaging format, the launch represents an advance in traceability and transparency in the aluminium value chain applied to the juice category. The ASI Responsible Aluminium Sourcing certification ensures that the material used in the can comes from a certified chain of custody, meeting internationally recognised environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria. The presence of the label on the packaging expands consumer access to information about the responsible origin of the material.

“More and more, brands are looking to align innovation and responsibility in their packaging decisions. The adoption of cans with the ASI label by Grupo Mariza demonstrates how it is possible to expand categories while strengthening commitments to traceability and sustainability across the aluminium value chain,” said Tamires Silvestre, sustainability director at Ball South America.

With a well-established presence in Grupo Mariza’s portfolio, Nutrinéctar juice will now be available in cans for the first time. Developed as a practical option for everyday consumption, the product is made with mineral water, fruit pulp and vitamin C, with no preservatives and low sugar content.

The line is known for its variety of flavors, including passion fruit, grape, peach and mango, serving different consumption profiles and occasions. By entering the canned beverage category, Nutrinéctar expands its portfolio by combining convenience, innovation and a commitment to responsible practices throughout the aluminum value chain.

For Grupo Mariza, the launch represents a strategic step in the brand’s evolution, adding practicality to consumption and aligning the product with internationally recognised standards for responsible aluminium sourcing.

The launch follows a consistent movement in Brazil toward diversification of categories packaged in aluminum . In recent years, segments such as water, energy drinks, wine, coffee and ready-to-drink beverages have expanded their presence in cans, driven by the search for convenience and circularity.
The aluminum can offers hermetic sealing, protection against light and oxygen, and practicality for different consumption occasions. In addition, the aluminium can be recycled many times, returning to the production cycle as a new package. In Brazil, the recycling rate for aluminium beverage cans has exceeded 95% for more than 15 years.

With all of its South American operations certified by ASI, Ball reinforces its role as a strategic partner in expanding categories and developing solutions that combine performance, innovation and responsibility throughout the aluminium value chain – contributing to the evolution of the beverage market and to a world free from waste.
