CMI wins Gold in Media Contest

Can Manufacturers Institute (CMI) won top honours for its sustainability microsite and direct marketing piece from the Association TRENDS’ 2013 All-Media Contest.

In partnership with Fixation Marketing, CMI launched the B2B sustainability microsite, Cans: The Sustainable and Smart Solution. The site aims to promote metal cans as the best packaging choice for food and drinks. The site focuses on the can’s sustainability among other reasons for packaging professionals, brand owners, retailers and consumers to choose cans.

The dimensional direct mail piece featured a custom can illustration and summarised the content of the microsite. The mail was sent to 25,000 food and beverage packaging professionals and invited them to visit the site.

“We are proud to be recognised for this valuable educational resource that is critical to showcase the innovations and sustainable packaging advances in our industry,” says CMI President Robert Budway.

The Association TRENDS’ All-Media Contest is an annual competition for associations to recognise the most creative communications vehicles developed over the previous year. CMI and Fixation Marketing will be honoured at the 25th Annual Salute to Association Excellence on February 20, 2014 at the Capital Hilton in Washington, and the awards will be featured in the January issue of TRENDS and online.
