Next year, The CanTech Grand Tour event welcomes the first Global Can Supplier Awards for metal packaging. Taking place on the second evening of the show, the Awards will celebrate excellence within the can making industry.
For those of you currently unaware of what the Supplier Awards entails, the highlight of the evening will be the Supplier Innovation Awards, a prestigious accolade for the companies deemed to have the most innovative product/equipment within the industry. There will be three supplier innovations presented: Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.
Suppliers have until the end of November to nominate their innovation, so we hope to see plenty of nominations.
For more on the event, be sure to check out the website.
Moving back to the present, we have plenty to look forward to in this issue. There’s certainly a UK theme to this issue, as I pay a visit to the can makers of London William Say, our board member Patrick Heskins examines the implications of the Deposit Return Scheme to the metal packaging industry, and we review the British Aerosols Manufacturers Association’s forum.
Elsewhere, we have a necking focus, courtesy of Belvac and Stolle, we examine the new ‘Love Steel’ campaign and editorial board member Simone Vooijs looks at shelf appeal when it comes to metal packaging.
Our new media pack and forward features are now available for 2019, so please do visit our website for more.
For those of you attending Asia CanTech, we look forward to welcoming you to the show. See you in Bangkok!
