An impressive start

For those visiting Paris for this week’s Aerosol and Dispensing Forum (ADF), 2020 has certainly hit the ground running. There promises to be a wealth of new innovations on show, if this week is anything to go by.

For those of us specialising in the metal packaging sector, every three years, proceedings tend to take a back seat as the industry converges on the can making mecca that is Essen, Germany for Metpack. However, events at ADF suggest that there is much to look forward to in 2020 before we dust off our lederhosen and steins, and plan our itinerary around what time the Irish bar opens – where real business gets done at Metpack of course.

From Ball’s new aluminium bottle line, which is being built in one of its French plants, to the ‘trending’ Trivium Packaging, and the Digital Colour Proofing solution for the aerosol can market, there is a wealth of innovation driving the aerosol can market currently. And judging by the attendance at ADF, both can makers and suppliers are looking to cash in on the positivity surrounding metal packaging. It all bodes well for a successful year.

Our review follows in our next issue, so be sure to check it out. (The photo used in this post is from the ADF Facebook page.)

Elsewhere, CanTech The Grand Tour in New Delhi next month is set for a bumper conference schedule. Just this past week we’ve confirmed Prakash Nedungadi, head for consumer insights and brand development at the Aditya Birla Group, and Amit Lahoti, managing director – India for Ball Beverage Packaging (India) to our show schedule. We’re looking forward to a great show.

With our show in mind, just a reminder that voting for the Global Can Supplier Awards closes tomorrow at 5pm (GMT), so please be sure to cast your vote!

And lastly, we welcome our new digital editor to Bell Publishing, Alex Rivers. Be sure to send her any possible stories that you wish to be considered for our CanTech website. She can be contacted on [email protected].
