CanTech the Grand Tour – what’s in store

Sarah here, up on the blog today whilst Alex is currently enjoying life on the other side of the world in Australia. I am sure she will be having as much fun as the rest of the CanTech team next week as CanTech the Grand Tour takes place after all the months of planning.

Unlike previous shows, this year we start on Tuesday 26 March as we will be embracing Holi Fest in Mumbai on the Monday. I was fortunate enough in 2015 to experience Holi Fest in Nepal, it was full of colour, music, atmosphere, all round friendliness and celebration throughout the day. I am super excited to be apart of this wonderful festival again before the show starts. But that’s enough about me reminiscing about my travels, you want to know more about what’s in store next week…

First up we have our wonderful Keynote speaker Sanjay Bhatia from Hindustan Tin Works opening the conference this year. Followed by 14 other sessions across the two days discussing a variety of topics such as sustainability; reduction of plant costs; driving sustainable packaging growth; inspection and much more!

Not only do we have some great sessions lined up, we have the exhibition side where you can meet with companies and discuss how they can help you in this industry. It’s a great opportunity to network, meet new and familiar faces and provides an inviting environment to talk to other people in the industry that are just as passionate about can making as you are.

Our Gala & Awards night is being held on Wednesday and we have 8 categories this year. We were inundated with cans from companies this year so thank you to everyone who sent these in, make sure you attend the Gala dinner to find out who this year’s winners are. The full agenda for this year’s show can be viewed here.

Slac has led the way in providing our can makers with lanyards again for the CanTech the Grand Tour show. TD Wright and MCAM will take front and centre on the podium during the conferences. Thank you for supporting the event and should you wish to sponsor future events please email [email protected] who can tell you more about the opportunities we have for not just CanTech the Grand Tour but also our yearly show Asia CanTech this year hosted in Vietnam from 21 – 23 October.

Wishing you safe travels near or far and I look forward to meeting you all at the show next week!
