Cans at Christmas

With the festive season fast approaching and preparations well underway, what part will cans play when it comes to your own celebrations this Christmas?
Being a devout foodie I will certainly be opening a few myself. Perhaps some duck confit for Christmas Eve, or a few of chestnut purée to add a twist to the obligatory stuffing, and for those of you who enjoy a drink or two I’m certain the can will make an appearance at some stage!
In a world of convenience the time poor among us will be glad of the help that canned goods provide at this busy time of the year, and you may just need a drink after seeing those relatives that only crop up around this time!
Spare a thought also for those less fortunate than yourselves. Food banks are becoming more and more widespread around the world and canned goods are the perfect items to donate to help out with providing a decent meal for those not destined to sit down to a hearty dinner on the 25th. We all know the benefits of canning food and these items could really make a difference.
So there you are, a few thoughts on how the can could play it’s part this December.
Do canned goods play a part in your Christmas plans? Do you celebrate a different holiday and use canned goods to help you enjoy it? Send us your ideas. The best ones will be published on our website.
