Job vacancies at CarnaudMetalbox Engineering

CarnaudMetalbox Engineering, the UK manufacturer specialising in high speed, precision metal forming, finishing machines and tooling, used to produce cans for the global beverage and food markets, has a number of vacancies available to join its team based in Shipley, West Yorkshire, UK.

The company is looking to recruit 50 assembly fitters on fixed term contracts (with immediate effect) for a minimum 12 month contract; the roles may lead to permanent positions within the company.

The positions involve assembling and testing machinery and equipment with the use of engineering drawings, machine build books and SOP’s, and producing quality work to the required standard in a safe manner following CMB procedures.

A minimum of two years’ experience in the assembly and testing of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) machinery is required, or candidates will be from a combined education with on-the-job training within an engineering background. Candidates will be apprentice trained engineers (NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification as a minimum) with mechanical and technical flexibility, and the ability to work unsupervised.

The annual salary will be £26,113 on a 37.5 per hour per week on shifts, with a further 21.25 per cent shift premium, working double days 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm, which takes basic salary to £31,660 plus overtime. There is also a bonus pro rata available, which has paid out up to £2,000 during the past two years, and a Westfield Health Care and Pension plan incorporated within the position.
