McKenzie joins CMbE

Chris McKenzie has been appointed as the new sales manager at CarnaudMetalbox Engineering (CMbE).
McKenzie replaces Adrian Long who will remain involved with CMbE on a contract basis. He will be responsible for optimising value at the world’s leading can makers in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, Southeast Asia and China.
McKenzie has previously held a number of positions of increasing responsibility in the EU and across Asia at several companies in or serving the can making industry, including Preferred Tooling, D.A. Stuart Ironsides, Henkel Surface Technologies, Houghton and Chemtool.
“Our team members are focused on continuing to increase customer value by anticipating, meeting and exceeding requirements in this constantly evolving marketplace,” says Jim Cozier, CMbE’s general manager. “The success of our customers requires that we attract and retain the best talent in the business and Chris easily meets that benchmark.”
McKenzie will build on the legacy of comprehensive customer service and support, technological innovation, and employee development initiatives of the retiring Adrian Long, who will remain involved with CMbE on a contract basis. Due to his engineering expertise and market insight, McKenzie will also play a central role in developing and implementing new products and services that further help can manufacturers enhance line efficiency, increase flexibility and reduce downtime.
“I have long held CMbE in high esteem because of its smart investments in technology, laser-like focus on customers, and legacy of innovation,” says McKenzie. “I’m thrilled to join this team of dedicated professionals and begin collaborating with our customers on how we can best drive value throughout their operations.”
McKenzie will helm CMbE’s comprehensive customer support offerings, comprising services from the design of new technologies and customised enhancements through installation and on-site support. The provision of spare parts with quick turnaround times is also a key focus for McKenzie and CMbE.
Additionally, McKenzie’s multifaceted work in the Asia-Pacific region during tenures at D.A. Stuart Ironsides and Henkel Surface Technologies will allow CMbE to boost its service presence in emerging markets, providing local support across the full can line. Among his most noticeable accomplishments was personally supervising the set-up and operation launch of multiple can makers during the industry’s rapid global expansion in the 1990s.
