New president at Apex
Apex Tool Works, is a worldwide supplier of precision tooling, machinery and systems for the production of can ends and other metal, paper and composite elements used in can and container making and packaging.
Michael succeeded his father, William Collins, as the company’s corporate leader on 1 January 2012.
After receiving his degree in metallurgical engineering from Michigan Technological University, Michael worked for several years at Weirtech, a department of Weirton Steel Corporation. He joined Apex Tool Works in 1989.
William Collins will remain active in the business but in a lesser capacity. He said: “I am pleased to have Mike step into the leadership role.”
Also effective from 1 January, the company named Edward Racutt as its new vice president. Racutt has been with Apex since 1970.
