Aluminium bottles for Strongbow cider

Carlton United Breweries (CUB) has teamed up with Ardagh Group and Amcor to bring leading cider brand Strongbow to market in aluminium bottles throughout Australia.

The 335ml premium aluminium bottle, manufactured by can maker Ardagh Group, is designed provide the perfect outdoor drinking experience for the popular Strongbow Original and Strongbow Pear cider varieties at selected events through the summer season. This is the first time that a cider product has been launched in aluminium bottles in Australia.

Manufactured at Ardagh Group’s facility in Taree, New South Wales, with a crown seal closure, the aluminium bottle has many advantages including being unbreakable, quick cooling and 100% recyclable.

Clive Coleman, Strongbow’s group marketing manager, said: “This packaging innovation for Strongbow is perfect for summer drinking occasions such as music festivals and outdoor events, where glass is not an option. We’re really happy with the aluminium packaging and believe it fits well within our portfolio.”
