Update: Metpack rescheduled to February 2021

Following on from Messe Essen’s recent announcement, the event organisers have confirmed that Metpack will now be taking place from 23-27 February 2021.
The international trade fair will therefore, as accustomed, run parallel to Interpack, which has also been postponed to next year.
“For the participants in our fair, we have created planning security with the new dates,” explained Oliver P Kuhrt, CEO of Messe Essen. “I am very pleased that, in close coordination with the cooperation partners of Metpack, it has been possible to reschedule the trade fair to the end of February 2021 into the accustomed surroundings of interpack. I thank everybody involved for the close and trustful collaboration in this particular situation characterized by force majeure.”
Wolfgang Niemsch, chairman of the Metpack Committee and general manager of Lanico Maschinenbau Otto Niemsch GmbH, supplemented: “In the current framework conditions, the new dates of Metpack are the ideal solution. They will ensure the accustomed closed presentation of the sector and will permit the necessary lead time for all the participants. In particular, I would like to thank Messe Essen which, with its efforts, is making the accustomed duo of fairs possible not only for us as exhibitors but also for the visitors. That is not a matter of course with a full calendar of events.”
David May, vice chairman of Roeslein & Associates, Inc, shared this estimation: “We are very relieved that it was possible to find not only new, but also such favorable dates at such short notice. The postponement of the fair while maintaining the proximity to interpack gives the very international exhibitors the opportunity to present themselves to the global market as planned.”
“From an exhibitor’s viewpoint, we are welcoming the decision to reschedule Metpack to February 2021,” commented Ralf Gumbel, CEO of Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint GmbH. “At present, we are all in an exceptional situation in which level-headed and, at the same time, flexible action is demanded. Therefore, we are very happy to adapt to the new dates particularly since they will guarantee the accustomed fair experience in a combination for the exhibitors and the visitors.”
