Burleighs Gin to launch its first RTD cans
Burleighs Gin, a Leicestershire-based distillery in the UK, has ventured into the ready-to-drink (RTD) category with two new flavours in cans produced by Alcohol Solutions in the UK.
The new flavours are its Signature Gin and Tonic and Pink Edition Gin and Tonic. The RTDs have been created to respond to the growing demand for pre-mixed alcoholic drinks in a convenient format, which is projected to be the fastest growing category within the drinks sector over the next five years.
Sam Watson, commercial director at Burleighs Gin, said: “Convenience has been the fastest growing channel for the UK Flavoured Alcoholic Beverage category and it’s no surprise that the ready-to-drink category has become a popular area for innovation.
“Our Signature and Pink Edition gins are our best-selling gins, so it felt natural to include these within our new canned gin and tonics and offer these core flavours some diversification.”
The Signature Gin and Tonic uses Burleighs Signature London Dry Gin, which is distilled with 11 botanicals, then combined with a premium tonic which has a hint of elderflower.
The Pink Edition Gin and Tonic adds Japanese cherry blossom, hibiscus, rose and pink grapefruit to the signature recipe, balanced with tonic and a hint of rhubarb.
Each have an ABV of 6% and the cans will retail for £3.25. They are available from the Burleighs website: burleighsgin.com.
