Ball releases Russia operations statement

On 24 March, Ball Corporation released the following statement concerning its operations in Russia:

“Ball Corporation is deeply saddened by the conflict and humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, and our hearts go out to those impacted. Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our employees. To assist with humanitarian efforts, The Ball Foundation has contributed $250,000 to Global Giving, who is dispersing the funds to charities providing aid and assistance to impacted refugees. In addition, our existing employee matching gifts program is supporting multiple relief efforts while many of our beverage and aerosol packaging EMEA employees are working to provide additional assistance to refugees.

“Ball’s beverage packaging footprint in Russia is limited to three facilities and has operated in the region since the 1990s. The business is self-contained in terms of raw materials, manufacturing process and customers, and we continue to operate and comply with current laws and sanctions. Our Russian  business is supporting existing contractual relationships with Ball’s customers and supply chain partners amid very challenging circumstances. Ball will continue to honor our obligations to stakeholders, support humanitarian efforts, and is also suspending any future investment in Russia. We continue to monitor the situation closely and support the global call for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict.”
