Aluminium Stewardship Initiative certifies Crown against ASI Chain of Custody Standard

The Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) has announced that Crown Holdings, Inc has achieved Chain of Custody Standard Certification at its Crown Beverage Brazil Division can Plants at Cabreúva, São Paulo; Estancia, Sergipe; Ponta Grossa, Parana; Rio Verde, Goias; Teresina, Piaui; the can end Plant at Manaus, Amazonas and the corporate office at Cabreúva, São Paulo. The annual production of the six plants is 10.9 billion cans.

The independent, third-party audit of the Crown Holdings, Inc plants was carried out by DNV Business Assurance Services UK Ltd.

Fiona Solomon, chief executive officer at ASI, said: “We warmly congratulate Crown Holdings, Inc on achieving Chain of Custody Standard Certification for their Brazilian operations. Crown’s responsible and ethical sourcing programme includes internal training for procurement teams, inclusion of relevant criteria in new supplier contracts, and third-party assessments and audits for potentially high-risk suppliers of goods and services with the goal for all core raw material and service suppliers to be in compliance with the company’s sourcing policies by 2030. These elements align with the supply chain due diligence principles in ASI Performance Standard and Chain of Custody Certification.”
