MPE welcomes new CEO

Metal Packaging Europe (MPE) has announced the arrival of new CEO, Krassimira Kazashka.

With over two decades of experience and in-depth knowledge of EU institutions, policies, and business associations, Kazashka will add value to the industry and the MPE team, the company states. Before joining MPE, Kazashka worked for multinational companies, European associations, and the European Commission, developing an extensive understanding of sustainability, packaging and packaging waste, the circular economy, chemicals, and food contact. Kazashka holds an MSc in Chemical Engineering, a European MSc in Environmental Protection, and an MBA from Vlerick Business School in Belgium.

MPE president, Paulo Sousa, commented: “we are thrilled to welcome Krassimira. Her leadership and expertise will prove a great asset in our ongoing efforts to promote the rigid metal packaging industry as a leading force in the EU Circular Economy and as the preferred sustainable packaging choice for consumers and industry.”

In response to her appointment, Kazashka emphasised: “I am excited to build on the strong momentum of our industry and collaborate with members and stakeholders to position rigid metal packaging, a valuable circular resource, as an innovative solution and the perfect partner for a sustainable future.”

Deputy CEO Sarah Cuvellier will closely support Kazashka in her new role.
