ALFED business briefing to address transformation in aluminium industry

The UK’s Aluminium Federation, ALFED, will welcome members from across the aluminium supply chain for its annual business briefing next week. Taking place on 30 November 2023, the event aims to strengthen collaboration between members and provide insight into the ever-changing aluminium landscape.
The conference will feature a series of addresses from experts across the industry, with discussions covering market insights, innovation in the sector, business strategy and sustainability. Confirmed speakers on the agenda include:
- Malindi Myers, agent for the South West, Bank of England
- Christian Mildner, head of corporate sales, London Metal Exchange (LME)
- Paul Williams, head of Aluminium, CRU
- Timothy Stock, head of Embodied Emissions Reporting at DESNZ
- Miles Prosser, secretary general, International Aluminium Institute (IAI)
Held at Tortworth Court in Gloucester, the business briefing will be followed by the annual black-tie dinner with special guest speaker, Ed Balls. The economist, politician, and former Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer will deliver an after-dinner speech drawing on his experience and insight into current affairs, politics and industry trends to add a new dimension of knowledge and perspective to this year’s event.
