The executive management team of UTC Overseas has announced the opening of an office in Gdańsk to provide expert logistics and engineering services to Poland’s growing project and industrial manufacturing sectors. There are many upcoming projects in the region, and a new UTC group of professionals will be strategically positioned to service this business.

UTC has assembled a team of experts, previously associated with a leading global rigging and heavy haul company, to enhance the company’s specialised transport capabilities portfolio. This new team will bring engineering knowledge and experience in-house that will benefit UTC offices globally.

“The new office will be managed by Jakub Walasek, a seasoned professional with experience overseeing large-scale projects involving ocean, river, and inland transport in Poland. Jakub holds a Master of Mechanical Engineering degree and a Master in Business Administration and has a proven track record of negotiating contracts, developing and executing strategic plans, and building high-performing teams,” explained Mirko Knezevic, UTC’s COO Europe & Asia.

Reporting to Istvan Csepan, regional general manager power generation EMEA, the Gdańsk office will be run by a highly skilled team of professionals, including civil and mechanical engineers who have worked together for many years.

“UTC’s strategic move to open an office in Poland is a significant step towards expanding our footprint in the industrial project sector that encompasses renewable energy initiatives. Poland is also an important transit point for countries in the Central European region,” stated Marco Poisler, UTC’s COO energy & capital projects.

“This group will bring highly sought-after and important engineering and transport skills to add to UTC’s scope of services. Their knowledge of the logistics market and contacts in the industry will benefit UTC, and we will be well-positioned to capitalise on the growing potential in Poland and the surrounding countries of Central Europe and the Baltics. This is important as some of our key customers are expanding their presence in the region, establishing production and supply facilities,” explained Csepan.
