CMbE receives visit from the British PM

CarnaudMetalbox Engineering (CMbE) hosted British prime minister, Rishi Sunak, at its UK site in Shipley on Friday, 8 March 2024.

Senior vice president, Andrew Truelove, said, “We were immensely proud and grateful to have him tour our facility, where we took the opportunity to demonstrate our state-of-the-art can making solutions and showcase the exceptional expertise of our workforce.”

Coinciding with International Women’s Day, the company said it was particularly rewarding to spotlight the remarkable talents of the women within the CMbE organisation during the visit.

Prime minister Sunak had the chance to meet with members of the CMbE team, including past and current apprentices. This interaction provided valuable insights and perspectives, enriching the discussions during the Q&A session included in the agenda. He was shown around the factory where CMbE showcased its machining and automation capabilities, followed by a tour of the development centre.

This significant occasion underscores CMbE’s unwavering dedication to innovation and will be remembered as a milestone in CMbE’s history, the company stated.
