Adrian Long, acting sales manager at CarnaudMetalbox Engineering, is getting back on his bike to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Adrian will himself be covering the cost of flights, accommodation, meals etc, so all donations will go to the charity.

He will be attempting to cycle 440 kilometres from Vietnam to Cambodia between 18 and 25 January 2014. Adrian previously took part in the Taj Mahal Cycle Challenge in India where he cycled 500 kilometres.

Average temperatures in South East Asia are likely to be 30oC plus but humidity will be high so this challenge is expected to be tougher than India.

The bike ride starts with a 77km journey from Ho Chi Minh to Tay Ninh. The challenge continues with a 80km cycle to Svay Rieng (Cambodia) before the group faces an 108km ride to Kompong Cham. Adrian will then face another 90km journey to Kompong Thom before the final leg of 85km sees the group arrive at Angkor Wat.

Adrian has been appointed sales manager at CMB Engineering on a temporary basis after the company announced the departure of Chris McKenzie, who is returning to Australia for family reasons.
