Emballator UK has been awarded the Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association (MPMA) top accolade – the Best in Metal Award 2025 – for its Fleetwood Colour Perfect paint can.
Best in Metal is the annual award from MPMA, recognising outstanding design and technical innovation in the metal packaging sector. The winner is selected by the trade association from the shortlisted finalists in the MPMA-sponsored metal packaging categories of the UK Packaging Awards. The shortlisted finalists have all pushed the boundaries of what metal packaging can achieve for brands while highlighting the inherent circularity of metal packaging.
Commenting on this year’s award, MPMA director and chief executive and CanTech editorial board member, Jason Galley, said: “The Best in Metal award stands as a hallmark of excellence. It honours manufacturers within MPMA’s membership who combine outstanding design, functionality and technical detail with a strong commitment to delivering for their brand partners.
He continued: “Metal packaging offers brands a unique 360° canvas to create a strong brand identity. Through the highly-decorative, general-line metal can, Emballator has demonstrated the design possibilities of single-pass, four-colour printing to achieve striking brand presence and commercial value. This approach is a detailed, vibrant and impressive finish that commands attention, creating strong shelf impact.”
Alastair Fielding, commercial manager at Emballator, commented: “Fleetwood Colour Perfect showcases how metal packaging can deliver visual impact, durability and user-friendly design while meeting high standards in both aesthetics and manufacturing. This award is a testament to our team’s skill in thoughtful metal decoration and manufacturing and to what’s possible when customer need drives innovation.”
The Best in Metal trophy was presented by Geoff Courtney, chair of MPMA, to Emballator at the MPMA annual dinner at Drapers’ Hall on Friday 14 November.
