Obituary: Tony Rimmer

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tony Rimmer, who was the co-founder of CCH Engineering Ltd in the late 1980s.

Those who knew Tony knew he was someone you’d never forget meeting. Regarded as a “legend” in the can making industry by those who knew him – straight-talking, with no airs and graces, he may have come across as a gruff person but deep down was a gentle giant, who worked hard and played hard. His iconic greeting for when he couldn’t recall someone’s name will be forever remembered!

There are many more stories to be fondly discussed by friends and past colleagues, as there was never a dull moment when Tony was around. If ever a man lived life to the full, he did.

The can industry was a sadder place when he retired and even sadder now he’s gone, but the memories for all that knew him will go on forever.
