Massilly North America has announced a new state-of-the-art three-piece metal can manufacturing facility in Brantford, Ontario, Canada.

On Tuesday 27 January, Massilly hosted Premier Doug Ford, Minister Vic Fedeli, Mayor Kevin Davis, and MPP Willem Bouma at its Brantford headquarters to celebrate the “strategic leap forward for the Canadian food industry.”

Massilly has stated its drivers behind the expansion as: supporting Canadian steel by utilising domestic steel to reduce reliance on imports; boosting the local economy by creating 50 new, skilled manufacturing jobs; enhancing the supply chain by offering domestic food fillers shorter lead times; and making operations more sustainable by reducing the company’s carbon footprint by sourcing locally.

“This project is a testament to our belief in Canadian manufacturing. We are creating a ‘Made in Canada’ solution that benefits the environment, the economy, and the consumer,” commented Garnet Lasby, president at Massilly North America.
