Anheuser-Busch launches Straw-Ber-Rita

Anheuser-Busch is to expand its range of fruity malt drinks with a new strawberry margarita cocktail in a can.

Straw-Ber-Rita, an 8% strength drink, is a blend of Bud Light Lime with the taste of strawberry margarita.

The new brand will be available in three pack sizes: 12 pack of 8oz cans and four packs of 16oz and 24oz cans.

The drink is aiming to build on the success of Bud Light Lime’s Lime-A-Rita which sold more selling 500,000 barrels after launching in April last year.

“The response to Lime-A-Rita, especially among non-beer drinkers, was tremendous, and we knew we’d tapped into a winning insight we could build on,” said Rob McCarthy, vice president, Bud Light, “Strawberries and margaritas have long gone hand-in-hand.  Straw-Ber-Rita is a unique twist on a familiar flavour that only Bud Light Lime can deliver.”
