Orora Cans has shared plans of adding a third can line at its Rocklea site in Australia.

The addition of the new can line at Rocklea marks an important milestone in the company’s wider network expansion – contributing to approximately $364 million invested across Australia and New Zealand to increase capacity and support customers.

Rocklea currently produces both classic and multi size cans, and with major customers expanding in Queensland – supported by the strong sustainability benefits of aluminium – demand continues to rise.

Chris Smith, executive general manager of Orora, commented: “This latest investment follows recently completed capacity expansion projects at our Dandenong and Revesby sites. Orora now operates two or more can lines in every major eastern seaboard location, as well as at our Wiri facility in Auckland – boosting business continuity, strengthening innovation capability and ensuring reliable customer supply even during maintenance or unexpected downtime.

“Alongside increasing capacity, we’re also lifting quality and innovation standards. Dandenong has become our benchmark for high speed digital printing with the Helio print solution, while Rocklea is set to become our flagship for high volume, high reliability can production.”
