‘Every colour tells a story’ is the narrative message behind AkzoNobel‘s new paint collection with The Walt Disney Company. The specially curated range of colours takes inspiration from an enchanting cast of characters, which can now be used to bring joy and wonder to people’s homes.

Combining Disney’s captivating storytelling with AkzoNobel’s inspirational expertise, the new collection features colours based on 16 much-loved favourites, including characters from Marvel and Star Wars.

Initially being launched in the EMEA region, details of the collaboration were unveiled on 16 June 2026 at an industry event held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

“Bringing together two global leaders in creativity and innovation has created something extraordinary,” said Daniel Geiger Campos, director of AkzoNobel’s Decorative Paints business. “We’re bringing joy and inspiration to people’s homes by helping them connect with a cast of beloved characters. It’s a
great way to showcase our extensive colour expertise and encourage everyone to let their imagination run wild.”

Sonia Samra, VP of Fashion and Home, DCP EMEA, added: “Colour is such a powerful component of creative storytelling. It can communicate emotion quickly and meaningfully. This first-of-its-kind multi franchise paint collection takes inspiration from our beloved characters and will bring some of their
energy into people’s homes.”

Suitable for all living spaces, the full collection – comprised of two carefully named colours inspired by each character – includes familiar faces from Disney Frozen, The Lion King, Moana, Bambi, Winnie the Pooh; Disney and Pixar Toy Story, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu; and from the Marvel
Universe, Captain America, Iron Man and Spider-Man. The availability of character-inspired colours will vary in each country.

The launch will be carried out in phases, with all 16 character-inspired palettes due to be introduced in Poland in July as part of the company’s Dulux EasyCare range. The UK and Ireland launch will follow in October, while the Netherlands and Belgium are scheduled for Q1 2027. No further EMEA dates are
currently available.

“Combining our innovative paint technology with Disney’s timeless appeal creates an ideal narrative,” continued Campos. “We’re using the power of colour and performance to offer consumers a unique experience which will allow them to reflect their personality with durable products that can withstand any
plot twist.”
