Cans move in on Polish craft beer

A Polish craft beer, previously only available in glass bottles, is to be released in cans for the first time.

Polish brand Piwo na Miodzie Gryczanymi is the first canned beer brand from the Jabłonowo Brewery launched under the Manufaktura Piwna label.

It is being packaged for the first time in 500ml aluminum cans, produced by Ball Packaging Europe.

The cans feature a special matt varnish to highlight the brand’s premium character, guaranteeing its proper positioning on the market.

The beer is also said to have a unique taste due to the use of buckwheat honey.

According to Antti Laakkonen, business manager alcoholic beverages at Ball Europe, beverage producers are expanding their offers in response to consumer demands.

He said, “Consumers are increasingly opting for specialty beers. They tend to drink at home or during outdoor gatherings with friends.

“As a result, they are more likely to choose beverages in practical, convenient packaging that is easy to handle and consume from at virtually any kind of event.”

Hubert Buksowicz, president and co-owner of Jabłonowo Brewery, added, “Up to now, specialty beers in Poland have only been sold in glass bottles. Why shouldn’t we contradict this stereotype?

“We have always been pioneers and I am confident that this time we will again enjoy success!”
