US brewer Anheuser-Busch has launched its Shock Top Belgian White ale in aluminium cans.

Previously only available in bottles, Shock Top will now be sold in bright, eye-catching orange cans with corresponding orange pull-tabs. It will be sold nationwide in 12-packs of 12oz cans.

“Shock Top’s popularity continues to increase year after year with a 24% growth in 2010 alone, and with the growth in canned beer sales over the past several years, we’re excited to bring the two together,” says Andy Goeler, vice president of import, craft and specialty brands for Anheuser-Busch. “We know fans of this Belgian-style wheat ale have a wide range of interests, and now, they have an easy-to-transport package they can bring anywhere.”

Shock Top Belgian White is an award-winning Belgian-style unfiltered wheat ale, with a naturally cloudy and light golden colour. Shock Top is brewed with orange, lemon and lime peels and coriander, giving it a refreshing, smooth taste and a citrusy aroma.

Earlier this year, Shock Top Belgian White rolled out its first extension with Shock Top Raspberry Wheat, available nationwide on draught and in six-packs of 12oz bottles. Shock Top Belgian White also introduced 22oz bottles to its packaging line-up.
