Metpack: Matriruiz wins Gold at Metpack

At the Metpack Innovation Awards, the Spanish company Matriruiz has scooped the gold for its Spider Head Liner.

Gernot Geldner, chairman of the jury, said that it had taken the panel, including our own publisher Neil McRitchie, over three hours to decide on the winners.

Geldner said at the announcement: “The industry is really innovative, really looking forward, and is preparing for a good future.”

The winning machine is a robotic head and liner designed by Matriruiz SL. Its operation is based on a delta robot, completely adapted and updated by the company’s engineering department. The machine forms a friction and space free articulation, allowing high speed and safety in the application of sealing compounds.

The head liner can be applied to any existing production line.

Antonio Garcia Puche, from the Matriruiz sales department, said on winning the award: “For us it’s really unexpected. We are a small company with big competitors and we only started on the project in October of 2013. We are really pleased to have won gold here at Metpack, it hasn’t really sunk in yet.”

Silver went to KBA –MetalPrint for its Highecon drying oven, with Soudronic taking the bronze with its Soucan 2075AF machine.
