The first day at IMDA in Chicago’s Bloomingdale suburb saw some very interesting topics discussed.

As predicted, the craft beer revolution is still gathering steam and Chicago’s own Revolution Brewing were here to explain its migration towards the can and in particular the Crown full Aperture end – which allows for increased aroma and therefore enjoyment of the beer.

Perhaps the most interesting item to occur was a presentation by Stolle which showcased its new digital decorator. The machine processes a can from raw metal to the final cure and therefore makes further equipment downstream unnessessary.

In the awards section, highlights were JL Clark’s Reese’s Peanut Butter tin, which won the grand award, while John Greenwald, a longstanding honorary member, won member of the year.
