New chairman of BAMA

Ian Mackinnon (pictured right) has been appointed as the new non-executive chairman of the British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA).
Dr John Morris, who has been appointed as the association’s chief executive officer, recently vacated the post.
Mackinnon, who is CEO of Swallowfield, has been a member of the BAMA executive committee for the past six years as well as acting as vice-chairman since January 2011.
Commenting on his new role, Mackinnon said: “I am honoured to be elected as chairman of one of the UK’s most reputable trade associations. Having worked in the sector for over 12 years, I hope that I will be able to help BAMA remain at the forefront of industry thinking and look forward to working with the executive committee which I know to be very strong. I am also keen to support John Morris in his new role and I will work hard to ensure the association’s core goals are met during what is a challenging period for industry.”
Mackinnon joined Swallowfield as group finance director in 2000 and was later appointed CEO in March 2006.
Former chairman, Dr Morris, replaces Sue Rogers who is retiring after 18 years as director of BAMA.
